It is common to have many doubts about translation services. For this reason, we are answering the most frequent questions. See below:
1. What is a Free/ Simple/ Technical Translation?
Free/ Simple/ Technical Translation is the translation for non-official purposes. This translation cannot be used before public departments and it does not produce effects against third parties in lawsuits. It may be translated by an official translator or nor, but should be delivered in a common paper or electronic means.
2. What is a Sworn Translation?
Sworn Translation is considered an official document with public faith. It means that this translation has the same value as the original document in a foreign language, producing effects before public departments in the entire national territory. It also can be used for legal purposes. This is the translation made exclusively by a Public Translator, also known as Sworn Translator, authorized by the Trade Board of the respective State and delivered in an official paper with their stamp and signature.
3. How to choose Free/ Simple/ Technical Translation or Sworn Translation?
In relation to the quality, Free/ Simple/ Technical Translation and Sworn Translation are equivalent and, at World Translation, are usually executed by the same translator. However, only the sworn translation is valid for official purposes, similarly with reprographic copies (Xerox): Simple copies and certified copies are identical, but only the latter is applied to official purposes due to public faith.
4. What is a Standard Page `{`Lauda`}`?
It is the most common unit for calculating the translation volume. In some companies, it is possible to find standard pages with 1250 characters with space or 1000 characters with space. At World Translations, the projects are calculated based on a standard page with 160 words. However, World Translations may provide its quote based on other parameters to make easy the comparison.
5. How much does translation service cost?
The sworn translation has a fixed price by the Trade Board of the State, but our prices are below the Trade Board’s threshold in some languages, for example. For this, World Translations ensures the best quality and the best presentation. For Free/ Simple/ Technical Translation and other services, we have a different pricing policy, according to the volume.
6. What are the deadlines for delivery of translation?
We send the best efforts to make the translation delivered within a proper time for your clients’ needs.
7. How to send and receive my translation?
You can send and receive your documents by e-mail, post office (Sedex) or holder.
